Bethesda announced the Dunwall City Trials today, which is the first DLC pack for their critically acclaimed stealth action title Dishonored. They also briefly discussed their plan for the next two packs.
The Dunwall City Trials will feature 10 challenge maps, each with distinct trials designed to test Corvo’s combat, stealth, and mobility skills. These challenges will include wave based battle arenas, drop assassination missions and races against the clock. This pack will also bring new achievements and trophies as well as global online leader boards to the game.
This first pack will be available for download in December, but the next two won’t be released until 2013. The second and third packs will be released simultaneously and be completely story driven.
Specifically, the second pack will focus around a brand new character named Daud, who is the leader of a supernatural collective of assassinations called ‘The Whalers’. The player will take control of Daud and his unique set of weapons, powers, and gadgets. Not much is known of the third pack as it is still being kept under wraps.
Those who complained about the length of Dishonored should be satisfied with highly re-playable trials in Dunwall. Now players will have to compete to prove who the greatest assassin really is.
