First of Two XCOM: Enemy Uknown DLC Packs Announced

+

2K and Fireaxis Games announced the first of two scheudled DLC packs for their critically acclaimed XCOM: Enemy Unknown today in a press release. The pack will feature all new missions, maps, and characters. In addition, they also decided to make the Elite Soldier pack available to everyone.

Officially dubbed the Slingshot Pack, the new DLC will give players a whole new set of linked council missions where they “will meet an enigmatic Triad operative, divert an alien ship’s course, and do battle with the aliens in the skies over China”, according to the press release.

The pack will also include 3 entirely new maps tied to these council missions, a new squad character with a unique story and voice, and new character customization options. The release date and pricing information have yet to be announced.

If the Slingshot pack seems too far off and you did not pre-order the game, you should scoop up the Elite Soldier pack for $4.99 or 400 Microsoft points.

This pack contains the classic XCOM solider from the original XCOM: UFO Defense, soldier decoration packs that provide aesthetic armor upgrades including the new Hyperion and Reaper solider armor kits, and complete color customization for all armor sets.
