Borderlands 2 Achievements Possibly Reveal First Expansion Details

Avast, some of the achievements in the recent Mechromancer DLC as well as some uncovered game files seem to tease the first Borderlands 2 expansion.

Specifically, the achievements contain references to a new area called “Oasis” as well as a “Quest for the Hidden Pirate’s Booty”. According to Shacknews the discovered content could be a part of a DLC pack titled “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty”. The claim is more than supported by information found in the source files of the PC version of the game.

“Legends speak of Captain Blade’s Lost Treasure of the Sands. Of a prize so great that men would turn the sands red in pursuit of it. Of a pirate queen, courageous and deadly, who would stop at nothing to find it. Of a monstrous Leviathan. Of the Vault Hunters who journeyed to the desert town of Oasis, not knowing the horrors that would befall them,” the source file information reads.

Inspired by this discovery, many fans of the game have taken it upon themselves to uncover as much information about the rumored DLC as possible. They have been searching through the game files and posting their findings on the Gearbox forums. Supposedly, the pack will also contain new heads for each class, a new rarity level called “Seraph”, additional bosses and new raid missions. They also believe there will be a variety of new items and weapons including the Blood Relic, Anshin Evolution Shield, Stinkpot, and many others.

This claim seems to be backed up pretty extensively, but just like the Gearbox forum says, “This information is not representative of the final DLC content. Gearbox will likely have more or different content for the actual release.”

All and all, the Vault Hunters of Pandora will have to be patient to see what the first expansion will offer as a well as for a look at Scarlett’s booty.
