Like Call of Duty and Battlefield before it, Resident Evil 6 is the next game in line to receive it’s own mini social network.
Capcom has announced that their upcoming hexagonal survival horror sequel will be heavily connected with Residentevil.net, a website where you can track all of your stats, including playtime, achievements and high scores. Of course, what’s tracking stats if you can’t shove them in somebody’s face? Naturally, you’ll be able to compare your info against those of your friends. “I’ve spent more time staring at Jill’s chest in the model viewer!”, you can say proudly, slowly sinking into the realization that you’ve reached a low point in your life.
Anyway, Capcom will also be organizing call to arms for the RE6′s multiplayer, such as a goal for zombie kills or something similar. Participants will be rewarded points with which you can purchase extra costumes for your characters, or virtual dolls to place in your virtual doll houses. Seriously.
So how much is this going to cost you? Well, in a very un-Capcom fashion, they’ve announced you won’t be paying a cent, you lucky so and so. You can view a trailer for the service below, if you haven’t passed out from excitement yet.
