In June, Ubisoft told Joystiq that even though they may be focusing on Wii U exclusive features for Rayman, the title would not necessarily be an exclusive. Obviously things have changed, and Ubisoft undoubtedly showed their commitment to developing games with the Wii U gamepad in mind.
Joystiq asked Ubisoft for clarification on the situation and they responded with, “yes, Rayman Legends is a Wii U exclusive. It will be releasing holiday 2012.”
All of the other Rayman titles have been multiplatform, so it would not be surprising if Ubisoft later ported Legends to other consoles.
For now, the Wii U is looking like it will have a diverse launch lineup. Rayman Legends definitely adds some family fun to contrast the serious games like Assassin’s Creed 3 and Mass Effect 3.
