Remember two days ago when I said this? Guess what! It’s been confirmed on the European PlayStation forums that Patch 1.02 is released for EA’s latest SSX title including the obviously teased competitive multiplayer mode. They’re called “3-2-1 Go!” events in the game for some strange reason. I suppose “Head2Head” sounded a bit too extreme.
Featuring up to five players at once, the game can be played in either Race or Trick modes and has no Restarts available for players. In the Trick mode, players must achieve the highest score and cross the finish line before the allotted time in order to register a score while the Race mode operates as one would expect. There are also options to create a custom drop for games with friends.
The patch also adds the rumored Freestyle mode where players can explore tracks at their leisure with no objectives, times or goals. As such, it’s also the HUD-less mode seen in the preview trailers for the update.
The update should be live on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation copies of both games right now.
