SSX is Gearing Up for a Big Update, Looks Like Competitive Multiplayer

The official EA SSX Twitter feed has been in overdrive the last couple of days, dropping hints about new game features to be added to the revival of the hit arcade snowboarding game from the previous generation. They’ve tweeted two screens so far, including the one above and this one, that strongly suggest that the game will receive a head-to-head online mode after months of having asynchronous multiplayer.

Also included was this video which drops many subtle hints about what’s coming to the game.

So, from the hints dropped, we can see that there’s a HUD-less mode, a tweaked HUD design, what appears to be competitive multiplayer, perhaps some speculation of a spectator/replay feature, new tricks, remade SSX3 maps, a Freeride mode and, from the tags in the video, Shaun White. Maybe that last one is just for snowboarding enthusiasts, not sure, but hey. They asked us to take a guess.
