Nintendo released up to date sales totals for its hardware alongside its overall earnings release today, and the 3DS has sold 19 million already since its February release in Japan.
The 19 million units sold mark was hit on June 30, and now the 3DS is rapidly approaching Gamecube’s lifetime hardware sales total of 21.74 million. The totals for the 3DS will likely keep rising with the 3DS XL releasing in Europe this Friday July 27.
The DS continues to widen the gap from the other Nintendo hardware, and every other platform for that matter, with 152.05 million units sold. The Wii is steadily approaching the 100 million sold mark with 96.56 sold worldwide.
Nintendo also usually releases a list of games that have sold 1 million copies or more. The titles making up this list usually are the cornerstone franchise like the Mario games, or Wii Fit. This time, Pokémon Black Version 2 and White Version 2 came in with an impressive 2.45 million copies sold worldwide. The most impressive thing is the game sold 30,000 copies outside of Japan, which was the only place the game was released.
