Awesomenauts Steam Beta Code Giveaway Part 2
We at Piki Geek are big fans of Awesomenauts. It brings the MOBA craze to consoles with simple, addictive, 2D gameplay. For the unitiated, you can read Chris Ullery’s review of Awesomenauts.
Yesterday we gave away twenty beta keys for the PC version of Awesomenauts, and today we’ll be doing the same. Interested in earning an Awesomenauts beta code? Keep on reading.
We’ll give twenty out today which will dry out our supply of codes. All you have to do is comment on this post. When it reaches fifty comments, fifty Facebook likes, or Fifty tweets on Twitter we’ll begin to give out some beta codes below this text. Simple and awesome.

Please note that you must also enable the Beta version of Steam to play! There is a bug in normal Steam that crashes Awesomenauts in windowed mode or using alt+tab. Here’s how to enable it:
-In Steam, in the top left click “Steam”, then “Settings”
-Under “Account”, under “Beta Participation” click “Change…”
-Add “Steam Beta Update”
-Steam will now restart. That’s it!

My Steam changes my Beta settings for no reason, I was set for the beta but after trying to use the keys it changed back to non-beta setting…stupid.
Yea it’s like the site just crashed as soon as it hit 50 posts. I wouldn’t doubt it if someone DDoS’d it as soon as they saw the codes so they could have them all to theirself. Pikigeek should seriously reconsider the way they go about handing out these codes. A raffle drawing would be much better than this method that can be easily abused.
I would love to meet the person who went to that extent to get beta keys for Awesomenauts. But a raffle isn’t a bad idea. Will remember that for future giveaways.
You have to remember that a vast majority of the gaming community are adolescents with no respect for authority and no shits given about the repercussions of their actions. In other words, the chances of something like this happening are far greater with a gaming site than most other types of sites. I could be mistaken about the whole circumstance, but I seriously doubt that this site had enough people hitting f5 in rapid succession to make it time out like it did as these days, even low-end web servers can handle thousands of requests per second.

Correct way to do this is merely post them. That way the people that want them the most, aka the people that furiously f5 the page for several hours, get the key.
