Little Masters Attempts to Bring the Pokemon Magic to iOS

01

Riida, the developer behind Pocket Summoner, announced, Little Masters, a game that will try something that many developers failed to do on the mobile scene before: create an iOS equivalent of Pokemon.

Now the first thing about Little Masters that captured my interest is that it will debut as a free to download title, with the usual freemium model of having micro-transactions mixed in. How much these transactions will be required and what impact they’ll have on the game are currently unknown. However, it has been confirmed that players will be able to gain in-game currency through battling.

To say that I’m a fan of Pokemon would be a gross understatement. Ever since the series debuted in the west in 1998, it has sold millions of copies, become one of the highest selling franchises of all time, and of course has garnished its fair share of imitators.

On one hand, I always welcome the creation of new Pokemon style games for players to enjoy, as I’m a very big fan of building up a team of monsters I enjoy. On the other hand, I worry it might be a bit too close to Pokemon, using similar visuals, creature designs, and even text. Regardless, it’s a title I hope to get a better look at once it’s released.

Riida has confirmed that the title has been submitted for approval, and will more than likely be available on iOS devices soon.
