If I told you I just watched a trailer that combined the zaniness of Borderlands 2 with the wub of Skrillex and the calming sounds of Wimoweh, what would you say? Either “What are you smoking?” or “Show me that trailer right now!” Lucky for you, I’ll do just that!
Amid the drug induced wackiness of the trailer, there may be a few gameplay hints as well. While we’ve all seen the Gunzerker’s duel wielding in action, the other characters haven’t had any real time in the spotlight yet. It looks like the Commando will have the ability to lay down not one but two support turrets and the Siren boasts some nice support powers of her own in the form of what looks like a stasis field. Finally, the Assassin has a decoy ability which will allow him to execute surprise attacks. However, I think most important part of this trailer is its deep and philosophical message. Even in the face of certain gruesome death, one can always find time to bob their heads to catchy 1960s pop music.

The trailer also brings up a few intriguing questions. Why does Lilith have wings? and why is there an obese woman killing people with a trash compacter? The world may never know—well, ok, we’ll know when Borderlands 2 hits shelves on September 18th for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
