Despite claims that Metal Gear Solid 4, or 3 for that matter, would be the final entry in the “Solid” franchise, it looks like Hideo Kojima has let the cat out of the bag. In a recent interview with French Magazine IG Magazine, Kojima confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 5 is in development and will utilize Fox Engine. However, no one knows how far into the development the game is, and Kojima is stressing that the recent tech demos were just that, tech demos, and not screenshots of MGS5: The Story Will Make Sense Now, We Promise. *Note: The title of the game is subject to change*
There will be a MGS5 with the new Fox Engine, but what we showed was not the in-game play, or something like that..It was only a demo that we had developed internally and that we released because the lighting and all interactions with the environment had fooled everyone.
We literally have no details aside from that it’s being made, but the game will once again be stealth based. Kojima also expressed interest in having some sort of social aspect to the game such as convincing NPCs to do certain actions. It should be noted that these quotes have been roughly translated and make little to no sense. From what I can gather, Kojima will be brutally murdered if he prematurely gives away any information regarding the game.
About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things…There will be much question of infiltration, espionage and convince people to give you “a favor” in the last MGS. I liked the idea of social interactions of Deus Ex: Human Revolution but we’ll see. And if I was saying, the female ninja public relations officer, who is behind the door I carve up into pieces. So better that we meet again when the time comes to talk about Metal Gear Solid 5.
