Doom 3: BFG Edition Launching This Fall

The upcoming HD rerelease of Doom 3, the BFG Edition, has got a release date and price – October 16th, 2012 in the US, and October 19th, 2012 in Europe for $29.99 on PC, and $39.99 on Xbox 360 and PS3.

I know what you’re all thinking. “Yes, MORE releases in October is exactly what we needed! I’d love to go hungry just to satisfy my love for gaming!” Seriously, let me break this down for you. October is going to see the release of Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Dishonored, Resident Evil 6, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Forza Horizon, James Bond 007 Legends, Assassin’s Creed 3, and now Doom 3: BFG Edition. Doesn’t that seem a little ridiculous to anyone else?

In any case, if you simply must buy Doom 3 again, BFG Edition also contains its expansion pack, Resurrection of Evil, plus Doom 1 and 2 as added bonuses. So at least it’s a decent value in spite of its poor timing.
