The list of studios working on Call of Duty is not unlike a star. It’s going to keep expanding until eventually it collapses in on itself and takes a large chunk of the video game industry with it. The newest addition to the CoDstar is Neversoft Studios, the gentlemen behind the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, and later Guitar Hero games.
This information comes from the most reliable of sources, the studio’s own website. The only information provided about the project is a small blurb that states “We have molded our team into a crack squad of eager developers ready to push the First Person Action genre in support of Activision’s Call of Duty franchise.” We can only hope they’re adding plastic peripherals and skateboarding minigames as well.
So what does this mean for the Call of Duty franchise? Is Modern Warfare adding another damn developer to help out, or will this be something completely different? We’re not sure, but we’ll be sure to convince some sap (cough Lucas cough) to refresh the Neversoft home page for the next few months until we find out.
