IO Interactive has released a new trailer for their upcoming Hitman: Absolution, and boy is it a doozy. Entitled “Attack of the Saints”, the gorgeous trailer follows our favorite (anti)hero Agent 47 and his
violent encounter with an all-female death squad.
Disguised as a group of devout nuns, the hit squad attempts to get the drop on 47 as he recuperates in a grimy, no-name motel. Of course, things don’t work as planned for the murderous sisters, and they soon find themselves on the receiving end of Agent 47′s wrath.
Hitman: Absolution is set for release on November 20, 2012 and is said to be a departure from previous installments, focusing more on action and gunplay and less on stealth. You can check out the trailer after the jump.

“The original assassin”
Oho, take that, Ezio.
It doesn’t focus more on action than it does on stealth, Square-Enix/IO simply haven’t done a good job of marketing that fact. It looks like it’ll be every bit as stealthy as previous installments, just that the run and gun options are more robust now than they were before.
I should have clarified my statement better. Everything I’ve read up on it has had IO/ Squeenix mentioning that they wanted to make the game “more accessible” while still maintaining elements that appeal to “hardcore” Hitman fans.
But I do agree, much of the marketing has leaned more towards big guns and big explosions, rather than what would be considered traditional Hitman fare.
