Listen, I know you’re walking into this article all full of yourself. “Pff, I can see images of the new handheld Castlevania in my head already.” you say “Same Symphony of the Night art style. Huge dungeon filled with kooky rooms. It’s all been done.” I’m going to stop you right there, because Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate is something completely different.
From what we know, we can tell that MoF will be similar to the 2010 console game, and will be developed by the same studio. Apparently, the game will feature “Deep combat mechanics” with Trevor Belmont’s Combat Cross with one button assigned to light attacks and another to heavy ones, mimicking Lords of Shadows’ God of War-like battles.
From the screenshots shown over at GoNintendo, it almost looks as if the game will be a sidescroller with some platforming elements, though we can’t say for certain. We are sure, however, that it will have the same semi-realistic art style that Lords of Shadow did.
So yes, I’m aware this isn’t a plethora of information, but with E3 coming up next week you can bet somebody will have something to say about the game then.
