Along with Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, the Tales of franchise has always been one of the flagship series in the JRPG world. While we’ve gotten many ports and remakes in the past few years, there hasn’t been a true sequel since 2008′s Tales of Vesperia. Luckily, this will soon change as Namco is set reveal the next title in the franchise on June 2 in Japan.
While the game still has no name, Namco has given us a few pieces of concept art to get our imaginations rolling. What will immediately catch your attention is the setting as it feels very sci-fi meets steampunk. While an odd direction for a series that has always been fantasy based, I welcome this new setting with open arms as it seems like a nice change of pace for the series.
