In a world where subscription MMOs aren’t a huge hit there has to be some good news somewhere, right? Well, there is if you’re Blizzard, as they’ve announced that World of Warcraft has recovered from the recent subscriber drops, and has managed to remain stable at 10.2 million players.
Strangely enough, it was also noted in the same press release that Blizzard is planning on releasing a “New MMORPG” and a “new free to play game”. Now, we know that Blizzard is working on Titan, and there’s been rumors of the game being free, but where does it leave the other MMORPG?
Another possibility is that Titan is the MMORPG references, and the F2P title is Blizzard DOTA. However, from what we know about Blizzard DOTA, it’s a mod for the next StarCraft 2 expansion. Could Blizzard be preparing to release it as a standalone title to compete with games like LoL? Looks like we may have to wait until Blizzard releases an official statement to find out.
