Sonic 4 Episode II Gets a Release Date, Metal Sonic in Tow

Great news, everyone! SEGA has announced that Sonic the Hedghog 4: Epidsode II will be
hitting the PS Store on May 16,  and that’s not all. Players who own Episode I and purchase the new episode will be able play as Metal Sonic.

Those of you who own both episodes will also gain access to “Episode Metal”, an exclusive zone that details Metal Sonic’s exploits during the first episode and bridges together the plots of Sonic CD, Episode I, and Episode II. Set in the same world as Episode I, players will be able to play through stages that have been rearranged specifically to fit the aforementioned metal protagonist.

Metal Sonic isn’t the only character making his return to the series. Foxy sidekick Tails is also along for the ride, making his return to the series as a playable character. Sonic 4: Episode II will retail for £9.99 (that’s roughly $14.99) and will launch side by side with new Sonic PSN avatars.
