This is an interstellar travel report from the People’s Interstellar Knowledge Institute (PIKI): Capsuleers are advised to stay away from the trade hub of Jita. In an attempt to bring the game’s economy to its knees, Goonswarm, a rather large player corporation alliance, is protesting the ban of Alexander “The Mittani” Gianturco by destroying any ship unlucky enough to make the jump to Jita.
While CONCORD will respond accordingly, the sheer number of ships Goonswarm has at their disposal has turned the area outside of the system’s jumpgates into a horrific mess of murder/suicides. Sources claim that Goonswarm manufactured more than 14,000 Thrasher ships for this event alone.
The Mittani, the catalyst for all of this, was banned after he urged his audience to grief an apparently suicidal player at CCP’s EVE Fanfest. Initially only being removed from his position as head of the Council of Stellar Management, EVE’s liaison between players and developers, CCP developers later decided that a 30 day ban was also a fitting punishment. The events in Jita mark the first days that The Mittani is returning to the game.
The big question on the minds of players, especially those have fallen Victim to Goonswarm’s antics, is “When will CCP interfere?” The truth is a resounding “Never” as EVE Senior Producer Jim Lander has given his blessing to the protest, having this to say on the subject:
I tell you what, it’s going to be fucking brilliant. They’re going to do exactly what you’re able to do in the game, and people will have to roll with it. It’ll be great. We want people to be able to do this. If Goonswarm want to do it, we want them to do it and we want them to have a great time doing it.
So there you have it. It’s advised to stay away from Jita and its neighboring systems until the hostile activity blows over, unless you’re looking to lose your ship. Remember, fly safe, fly swift, and never fly anything you can’t afford to lose. PIKI out.

don’t listen to him boys, come to jita I have candy in my cargo hold~
