Nomura Hints at “Something" More for The World Ends With You

title

A while back, we spread the word on how Neku, protagonist of The World Ends With You, showed up as a character in Kingdom Hearts 3D, and the character received a considerable amount of attention. Square Enix isn’t done with the TWEWY cameos, as series artist Tetsuya Nomura has stated that Raimu, a supporting character who never had dialogue during the original, will not only make an appearance in KH3D but will be fully voice acted “out of consideration of the future of The World Ends With You series.”

To add fuel to the fire, Nomura went onto say, “Regarding The World Ends With You, I can’t say anything at present… (laughs). But there probably is something.” This makes perfect sense since Nomura is a huge fan of the series and has wanted a sequel for quite some time.

The World Ends With You is one of the best JRPGs I’ve played in the last decade and while the story didn’t exactly leave itself open for a sequel, it was still one of the few great original IPs that Square Enix has been able to pump out. Many gamers have been wanting a sequel, myself included, and it looks like Square Enix is strongly hinting that we haven’t seen the last of that world.
