A few months ago, we reported that a South African retailer was taking preorders for God of War 4. As it turns out, they weren’t entirely wrong as God of War: Ascension has “officially” been confirmed via a leak and a teaser trailer. While there are little to no details on the game at this point, the game will be a prequel, indicated by the narrator’s line, “there was a time before Kratos was known as the Ghost of Sparta. A time when something other than rage consumed him.”
While I’m not the biggest God of War fan around, I think the idea of a prequel is a great idea for a franchise such as this as there’s so much rich Greek mythology that could woven into the game’s story.
