Halo 4 Gets a Release Date, Will Compete with Call of Duty

HaloChief

It’s been announced today that 343 Industries’ upcoming Halo 4 will be seeing the light of day on November 6th before being brutally shoved into Xbox 360 consoles and forced to twirl for our pleasure. The game will follow Master Chief on his new adventures after Halo 3 ended the Covenant trilogy and, according to the press release, “left many unanswered questions around the fates of the series’ beloved hero, the Master Chief, and his artificial intelligence companion, Cortana.”

Those questions, incidentally, were all in the vein of “I wonder what happened to my beloved hero, the Master Chief, and his artificial intelligence companion, Cortana.”

Well, now you know. They have more adventures. Like every other ongoing series’ characters ever. Surprise!

What’s interesting about this particular release date is that its launch date is pretty much the exact same as Call of Duty’s, for better or worse the clear bestselling franchise of this generation. Every Halo game since Halo 3 has launched in September, well ahead of the Call of Duty season, and has never been directly impacted by Activision’s bestseller series. It will be interesting to see how the competition stacks up come November when these two war game juggernauts square off come November. Please consult with your local bookie for odds.
