Can’t decide whether you preferred the rugged jungle from the first Crysis or the towering metropolis of the second? Well, now you won’t have to, as the now-confirmed third Crysis will take place in a semi-post-apocalyptic overgrown demolished New York. The setting will include demolished towers mixed with rampant foliage inside a massive Nanobubble created by the game’s corrupt CELL Corporation.
Taking place in 2047, 24 years after the events of the second game, New York City has been locked down by advanced nanotechnology in a massive dome. This leaves the environment a half-destroyed city overgrown with vines, trees, swampland and rivers. You continue to play as Prophet, complete with the iconic nanosuit, seeking to find truth behind the Cell Corporation’s lockdown of the Big Apple.
It’s clear that Crytek is blending the environment and tone from the first two into the third, giving Prophet a compound bow among others for use in navigating the dangerous overgrown environment being called “The Seven Wonders.” According to the official press release “With Alien Ceph lurking around every corner and human enemies on the attack, nobody is safe in the path of vengeance. Everyone is a target in Prophet’s quest for retribution.”
The pre-order bonuses break down into the Hunter, Stalker, Overkill, and Predator Pack, with each correlating to a specific retailer, although which is which has not been identified yet. Each pack includes a bonus weapon skin and early access to that weapon. Players will also be granted bonus XP and begin at level 5 when going online against other players.
Crysis 3 has an estimated release date of Spring 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Prophet’s back, eh? Hmm
Wait, Prophet’s dead. EVEN MORE HMM
Oh that’s right, Phrophet and Alcatraz “merged” at the end of Crysis 2. Less hmm.
I haven’t beaten the game so I don’t have the context but what the hell?!

Oh boy…New York. Again.
The better to reuse scenery from Crysis 2.

Somehow, I don’t feel obligated to point out the many ways in which you’re a fucking hack right this moment. Guess that makes me–wait for it–

Awww, we missed your brand of commentary around here, buddy.
Crysis 2 sucked compared to first Crysis. So clearly this game will be worse then second.
