Alan Wake is a Success Thanks to the PC

Remedy Entertainment’s head of franchise development, Oskari Häkkinen, recently told CVG that Alan Wake has moved over 2 million copies so far including the PC version. He mentions the game had a slow start, which seems to have worried the developer, but it has now become a good sign for them.

Which basically means they realized it should have been on PC all along, what with that version recouping its costs in just two days and accumulated 40% of the total sold in less than a month compared to the almost two years its been out on the Xbox 360.

Oh, and here’s my favourite part about it all: “Alan Wake is the second most pirated Xbox 360 game of 2010, with more than 1.1 million downloads“. What was everyone saying about the PC being the piracy platform again? I couldn’t hear it over the sound of my raucous laughter.

Well, at the very least, I hope Microsoft Game Studios is using the power of hindsight now.
