Since it’s release On Tuesday, many fans have been poking around Mass Effect 3′s directory and discovered the audio and animation files relating to the prothean team member obtained in From Ashes, the day one DLC pack. While many people are claiming that the download size (600 MB) is too hefty for disc locked DLC, these files are leading others to believe that BioWare has not been entirely honest regarding this subject.
The controversy regarding From Ashes stems from the fact that the paid DLC containing a potentially game-changing squad mate was released the same day as the game itself. Fans argue that BioWare intentionally withheld intriguing content from the game in order to charge a premium, while BioWare has stated that From Ashes was developed separately after the core game was completed.
Charging for content developed separately from the main game is an understandable practice but when said content is developed alongside the game, despite telling your fans otherwise, something is wrong.
We have contacted BioWare for clarification and will update this article with any response.

I see no issues with it, if you want it buy it, nuff said
The issue is that they were probably developing a major character for the story line alongside the game and then probably withheld it so they could charge people for it… if it had come out a month or two after it wouldn’t be such a big deal because it needed time. But since it came out the same day, it was probably ready when the game was being burnt into the disc.
Not quite. There’s a pretty long window(best measured in weeks) between the completion of a game and the time it reaches shelves, a window that can be used to create new content. They probably were planning on making the bulk of From Ashes during that window, but put some of the content that they had finished in the version that’s on the shelves, so that you wouldn’t have to download more data when you buy the DLC.
This video sums it up.
