Update: While the Monster Hunter Vita may be a leak, further research has found that the other three Vita games mentioned in the article could be a farce. Sony has a conference this Friday, so until then consider the possibility of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nights, Tales Of Innocence R, and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD a figment of the Internet.
It seems like nobody in the gaming industry has their stuff together lately, considering how much leaked information has been showing up. Most of it has been regarding Assassin’s Creed 3, but now Play.com has leaked four big Vita titles by posting their product pages on their site: Monster Hunter Portable 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nights, Tales Of Innocence R, and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
The game pages, discovered by a Eurogamer reader, allowed for pre-orders of each game, but did not list release dates. Monster Hunter Portable 3’s page is still active, but the rest have been removed.
It’s possible these games weren’t meant to be announced until March 9th, during Sony’s PlayStation Vita Game Heaven event. It was advertised with the following blurb:
“Sony will host a PlayStation Vita web broadcast on Friday, March 9 at 20:00 JST, where it will announce new titles for the handheld. It is titled ‘Welcome! PlayStation Vita Game Heaven.’”
While Capcom and Rockstar haven’t commented on the leak of their titles, Square Enix said, “We can’t comment on rumour or speculation.” Namco Bandai, who is publishing Tales of Innocence R, stated that, “As yet we haven’t announced Tales of Innocence R for Europe.”
With the exception of GTA, all of the games have already been released in Japan. Tales and Final Fantasy on the Vita, and Monster Hunter 3 HD on the PS3, though no Western releases had been announced for them.
We’ll have to wait until the 9th for official confirmation regarding the games, so stay tuned for that, as well as any other announcements Sony makes on the webcast.
