Developer Paradox Unveils Three New Games at GDC

+

Paradox

GDC 2012 is upon us and one of my favorite Publishers/Developers, Paradox Interactive has taken the time to announce three new games: The Showdown Effect, Dungeonland and RED Frontier. Paradox will be developing the last two but Arrowhead (the developers of Magicka) will be working on The Showdown Effect.

It seems like a safe bet that these, much like the vast majority of Paradox’s catalog will come cheap but nothing has been set in terms of price or release date for any of the three titles. Hit the jump to see the premiere trailer for each game.

Keeping in line with Magicka’s light-hearted nature, The Showdown Effect looks to be as humorous as it is over the top. This side-action multiplayer game looks to bring the laughs as well as the explosions:

Dungeonland looks to be the game that piques my interest the most. It’s a four-player game where three players must fight through a deathtrap-filled theme park while the fourth player controls the traps and creatures. It has the potential to sever friendships worse than New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Last of the group is RED Frontier, a strategy game that will feature twelve players per server, immediate respawn times, very little downtime, unit specialization, development and customization.

Paradox Interactive is one of those developers that seems to take pride on being the odd men out. They always seem to be able to throw something new, used and/or blue our way every time they announce something and this time looks to be no different. When more word comes from Paradox on these games, we’ll make sure to spread the word.
