This Week in Nintendo Downloads: Push and Roll Edition

This week, we get to see the unexpected launch of a brand new IP on the Nintendo front. That being said, the Virtual Console is taking the week off. But hey, you got Super Mario Bros. last week, and this week you can roll around as a cowboy armadillo! If that’s not your thing, we’ve got some block pushing, gnome running, and dog petting action to satisfy your digital urges.

Nintendo eShop Feature: Dillon’s Rolling Western

Announced at yesterday’s Nintendo Direct conference, Dillon’s Rolling Western is a hybrid tower defense/action game starring a fearless cowboy armadillo. Players charge his rolling attack by pulling back on the touch screen, then dispense indiscriminate justice by slamming into any that stand in his way. Oh, also, you build towers and there’s strategy and stuff.

Nintendo DSi Shop Feature: Box Pusher

You know all those sliding box puzzles in Zelda games? The ones where if you make a wrong move, you typically have to back out and reset everything? Well, here’s a game devoted entirely to that concept! Push around boxes to get them to their target spaces. 250 times.

Nintendo WiiWare Feature: 2 Fast 4 Gnomz

In this constantly-scrolling platformer, you’re tasked with quickly swapping between the powers of three magical gnomes in order to overcome obstacles and reach the goal. Whether you need quick bursts of speed, incredible leaping prowess, or a killer body slam, the game will test your reaction skills as you quickly adapt to obstacles.
