Metal-Gear-Solid-3DS

Chin up, Nintendo fans, we’ve actually got an exciting week on the digital front for the Wii and 3DS! Not only is the eShop and Virtual Console buzzing with some solid titles up for grabs, but this week also introduces Hulu Plus for your Wii! TV fans can download the Hulu Plus channel and log in to peruse all the available content, streaming it directly from their Wii to their TV.

If television isn’t your thing, there are plenty of titles that will certainly get you excited. This week, you can play one of the most acclaimed games of all time, relive an all-too-often forgotten Genesis classic, or try out a demo for the upcoming 3D remake of what is arguably Hideo Kojima’s finest moment.

Nintendo eShop Feature: Super Mario Bros.

Do I really need to describe this game? While certainly not his first video game outing, it’s the title that made Nintendo’s mustachioed mascot a household name. Early 3DS adopters already have it as part of the ambassador program, but if you were late to the party, here’s a chance to have this timeless classic everywhere you go!

Nintendo Wii Virtual Console Feature: Strider

You know that guy from Marvel vs. Capcom? Summons all the robot animals and swings his sword really fast? Yeah, he actually had a couple of games a long time ago. Strider on Genesis is considered an all-time platforming legend, featuring super smooth controls, lightning-quick swordplay, and tons of exploding robots.

Nintendo eShop Feature: Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D (demo version)

Serving as a prequel to the rest of the Metal Gear franchise, Snake Eater has been updated with exclusive 3DS features, not the least of which is a full 3D facelift for the entire game. Take a test run as the man who would one day become Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid’s third entry, which adds a dash of jungle survival to the steal-action proceedings.
