Less than a week ago, Frictional Games released a spooky peek at the still-unnamed follow up to their pants-browning thriller game, Amnesia, by linking to China on Google Maps via their website. Now, the teaser site is linking to a new location, an uninhabited Scottish island called Boreray. While it is a more specific location than China, Boreray is about as featureless as a plain sheet of paper. Unless you are deathly afraid of sheep, it doesn’t look especially scary either. The islands are owned by the National Trust for Scotland, and therefore contain no scary castles and, save for a few settlement mounds, it doesn’t have a history of brutal revenge plots or massive scientific genocides.
Time will tell if Frictional Games has plans for Boreray, or if it is just a step along the road towards revealing the setting of their next game.
