The Last of Us Zombies Will Be More than Just Zombies

There have been so many iterations of zombies in the video games, especially in the last five years, that many seem to be tiring of the same old formula. Naughty Dog has recognized this and promises that the design for their upcoming title The Last of Us will somehow be different.

Specifically, the survival aspect is expected to be different from the standard “here’s more zombies than you can count, just try to shoot them all.” There’s no telling exactly what they have in store, but it is always good to mix up the formula.

Naughty Dog has put out some excellent titles, most recently Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. They’ve released bits of information so far about how this particular zombie strain is spread via ants, and the level of detail is excellent. So far, it looks like the studio is up for the task of pushing zombies to the next level.

The Last of Us is scheduled to come out at the end of this year or the beginning of next. With all the news we’re beginning to get, I can’t wait. Here’s to hoping Naughty Dog upholds their standards from other games with this title.
