THQ Announces More Bad News, Delays Metro Last Light

+

Metro LL

The latest in what seems like an unending torrent of bad news for publisher THQ is that Metro: Last Light won’t be released until 2013. Metro: Last Light was originally going to be published towards the end of this year, but its release date has been pushed back into Q1 2013. The news was announced in a reviewed schedule that was published alongside THQ’s financial results.

THQ made the news last month when it announced it was going to turn its focus away from licensed games for children, faced rumors that its 2014 line-up had been canceled, laid off a large number of its Australian employees, and came under threat of delistment because its closing price had dropped below $1.

A release delay of a popular title is only going to make things worse for the publisher. With the threat of a new console generation looming on the horizon, any delay might endanger the sales of the game. Only time will tell if THQ will be able to find the light at the end of this tunnel of trouble.
