FFXIII-2 May Not Be the Only FFXIII Epilogue

FFXIII-2 director Motuma Toriyama and producer Yoshinori Kitase have said in interviews at the end of the strategy guides for FFXIII-2 that there are plans for multiple character-specific episodes to follow the most recent Final Fantasy game.

Referring to XIII-2 as “Noel and Serah Volume”, they suggest that there could be volumes for each of the other characters including Lightning, Snow and Sazh. The most interesting part is that the additional content may not actually be in video game form. 

In the interview, Toriyama and Kitase say that they have a variety of ideas in mind, including other media such as novels. They made a similar statement in a recent Famitsu interview.

Given Square Enix’s penchant for making animated movies, perhaps this means we’ll be seeing not only DLC, but movies and books as well.
