It’s no secret that The Witcher 2 is a fantastic game, but how well will it hold up on the Xbox 360? Well, we’ll find out in a mere three months, as developers CD Projekt RED have announced that the port will be released on April 17th.

In addition to being able to play the main game with a controller and totally overhauled UI, Xbox players will also be getting more than three hours of new gameplay and story content not yet released on any platform. However, we have no word on what exactly those three hours of gameplay contain.

Of course, not to be outdone by the console version, PC copies will be upgraded to the “Enhanced Edition” on the same day, April 17th. The Enhanced Edition will include new locations, such as the Loc Muine mountains and their complex underground cave systems, new major characters, and new cinematics, including one big one that clocks in at three and half minutes. Whether this is the same content we’ll see on the 360 I’m not sure.

Of course, everyone who currently owns The Witcher 2 will be getting their upgrade free of charge. No word on those who buy the game afterwards though, or if they plan on making the Enhanced Edition the only one available for purchase.
