It looks like Diablo III will officially be hitting consoles. A tweet by Blizzard community manager Michael Whipple noted earlier today that Josh Mosqueria will be the lead designer for the “Diablo console project.”
This confirms months of speculation that a console port is in the works. On one hand, it should come as no surprise – Blizzard did release the original Diablo on the PSone back in the day, and the success of Torchlight proved that the top down Diablo style dungeon crawler could work well via a controller. On the other hand, this is Blizzard’s first console title in a good while.
It is unknown which consoles Diablo III will be released on. Diablo III will be hitting the PC and Mac sometime this year.

When can we buy it in stores?
