Did you purchase Minecraft Pocket Edition in the hopes that it will someday be updated to better represent the PC version you love so much? I know I did. Fortunately, next month we’ll be one step closer to that glorious goal, as according to a recent blog post, Mojang will be setting up the groundwork for survival mode with the game’s next update.
You won’t be whacking creepers just yet, but you will get to see some fancy new animals and blocks. Crafting won’t be making it in either, as it would require a pretty hefty UI overhaul. The good news though, is that the update will set the foundation necessary for bringing the Pocket Edition up to snuff.
Mojang currently plans to submit the update to Android and iOS app stores on February 8th.
