The PlayStation Vita is out in Japan, and it is doing rather well, selling 321,407 Vitas in two days.
Based on current data, analysts predict the console will sell 1.4 million in the first week, certainly an impressive figure. Still, the 3DS sold almost 50,000 more units in Japan in its first two days than the Vita. Since then, sales of the 3DS slowed until the price drop, which now makes it rather cheaper than the Vita.
Whether this will affect sales of the Vita remains to be seen. First day sales of the PSP saw 166,074 units sold, and in the States it sold 500,000 in the first week. The Vita certainly could see similar figures, but it won’t launch until February 22nd.
