I got to mess around with the TOR open beta for about three weeks, and I can recommend that once you’ve gotten your bearings in TOR, turning general chat off is a good idea. Making major choices for your character is lessened when the eternal MMO debates fire off overhead in general chat. I liked the game a lot, but it’s not leaps and bounds different than WoW. It’s less annoying than WoW in a lot of its choices, and having a story behind the grind makes a big difference.
I finished Skyrim, and by finished it I mean found a place to put a mental bookmark. The NeverEnding story has nothing on Skyrim, and I’m sure I’ll be picking it back up with every official expansion. It’s nice to know that the dragon micro universe exists and I can dip my toe in at any time, but it’s also a little daunting. It feels similar to Minecraft in that way, and I’m sure down the line other games will be added to the list of pocket universes I would want to visit and revisit.
