Yesterday, we reported on some interesting, EA-related rumors regarding a new entry in the Dragon Age franchise, thanks to some “insider” information received by Kotaku. It seems said insider wasn’t done spilling the proverbial beans – this time divulging information on a possible third entry in the Army of Two franchise.
If you’ve never heard of Army of Two, or its sequel, 40th Day, you aren’t missing much. They were largely underwhelming cooperative shooters with an emphasis on the love between two bros. Speaking again to Kotaku, an anonymous source claims that EA’s Montreal studio is currently working on Army of Four, which would, as the name implies, add four-player co-op into the mix.
The insider also claims that the game’s development is not exactly going smoothly, but that it will be using DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, which seems to be taking its rightful place as EA’s go-to game engine.
Since this is just a rumor for now, we’ve contacted EA for comment, though I suspect you all know what their response will be.
