At the start of this article, 16,761,869 people have registered for Minecraft, and 4,123,319 people have bought the game. At the Minecon Mojang Developers panel, more numbers got dropped, speaking to how large the Minecraft community has gotten, and how it continues to grow. Some of these numbers, reported by gamefront, are as follows:
- 241,920,000 logins per month
- 1,000 logins per hour
- 4000 logins per second after 1.0 launch
- 2,000,000,000 files download by the launcher
- 11,000 skin downloads (in game) per second
And now, at the conclusion of this article, the Minecraft homepage reports that 16,763,110 people are registered, and 4,123,533 people have bought the game. In less than an hour, 1,241 more people have registered, and 214 more people bought the game. The peer pressure makes me almost want to buy the game.
