Nathan Drake’s newest adventure came out last Tuesday and despite being PS3 exclusive, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception still managed to sell 3.8 million copies on the first day. The numbers, shown in a short press release by SCEE, display huge excitement about the third game in the series. Metacritic ratings are high, and reviews all around are generally very favorable.
Judging by a recent statement Justin Richmond made about the future of the series, it would seem Nathan Drake should pack his bags for many more trips to come. I’m hoping to see many more adventures after the upcoming Vita game, Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
Just for comparison’s sake, it took Uncharted 2 an entire year to get 3.8 million copies. And U3 did it in one stinking day. Talk about fan loyalty. Sony said the game is “on a clear course to be the biggest selling game in the trilogy.” Quite a capacity for stating the obvious, eh Sony?

Also, I hear talk of MW3 being on course for selling more copies than MW2!
Uncharted did not “sell” 3.8 million copies on day one. 3.8 million copies were shipped, not sold.
