It seems Batman: Arkham City may not be ending with [Spoiler Redacted], as the game’s director, Nick Cowen, has very subtly hinted at the possibility of storyline-oriented DLC. In an interview with the Guardian, he spoke of troubles the team had with the game, as well as what the future holds for the development team.
When questioned about DLC specifics, Cowen highlighted the already announced items for the coming months, like Robin challenges and avatar items. But when the interviewer asked specifics about story, Cowen merely smiled and slyly stated ” I don’t think I’m allowed to talk about that at this stage.”
You’d be right in thinking that this is the weakest confirmation of anything, but the fact that Cowen is unable to talk about such things – not to mention that smirk – suggests that Rocksteady has some narrative ideas in mind. It’s also not a stretch to make the assumption, considering how much of a hit the game has become.
Does this mean another corner of Arkham City gets opened up? Could there be some further exploration of Batman’s relationships with his cohorts? Will a new villain show his face?
I hope it’s the latter, as some Batman’s B and C-level enemies are pretty hilarious. I mean, Batman once fought a villain named Torque, who has the “power” of having his head permanently twisted 180 degrees backwards.
I’m not kidding. When’s that DLC, Rocksteady?
