In a clear and direct challenge to Michael Pachter, an RW Baird analyst by the name of Collin Sebastian is predicting that Sony will be first to market with the PS4 ahead of Microsoft’s next generation XBOX.
In an interview with Industry Gamers Sebastian says:
I doubt they will be ready for launch in 2013. Between Sony and Microsoft, we expect Sony to be first to market perhaps as early as 2013, but more likely in 2014. There is still a lot of investment for both companies to recoup in the current generation.
What we do know for sure is that both Sony and Microsoft are working on their next cycle systems, although that doesn’t really help us make an accurate prediction. Not much else can be said here outside of the fact that this is pure speculation unless there is some definitive evidence that Sony is ready to put their PS4 into mass production by end of next year.
But hey, you know who beat both Sony and Microsoft to market? Nintendo.

xbox 720
ps4
wii u
these are the names of the next gen i bet
I feel like it won’t be Xbox 720. I don’t think Microsoft thinks of the 360 as being a number, more like a full view of the world, or something stupid like that.
360 = Revolution. So I doubt they’ll call it Xbox 720.
And lol at Wii U coming close to the success of the Wii. From what I’ve seen, the controller will cost a lot, which is a major turn off for many consumers.
