Street Fighter diehards will be getting an overhaul to their fighter of choice just a tiny bit earlier than its name might suggest. Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono’s Twitter was updated to reveal that Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012 Version will be available for download on PSN and Xbox Live December 13th.
The free update is designed to address several balance issues that players have been concerned about since Arcade Edition launched earlier this year. Most significantly, the update will tone down Street Fighter III alums Yun and Yang, who many Street Fighter fans claimed stood head and shoulders above the rest of the cast in relative power.
The update has been playtested over the last few months in Japanese arcades, with a careful ear towards player feedback as far as retuning characters. With any hope, the result will be a much more balanced Street Fighter to enjoy this coming December.
