Despite admitting that their last MMO effort, Final Fantasy XIV was a flop, Square Enix is hoping that you’re still hyped about the upcoming Dragon Quest MMO. Andriasang got a look at some of the jobs available to players, as well as how character progression works.
Players will be able to choose from five different races and a number of jobs when creating their character. The currently announced jobs are warrior, mage, monk, martial artist, thief, and minstrel. Players will be able to change jobs by visiting the local Dharma Shrine branch in towns.
Dragon Quest X will use a stat building system similar to the one in Dragon Quest IX. Players earn points that can be distributed among weapons to learn new skills.

Maybe if it were for like… you know… a system besides the Wii =P
Wii only is certainly an odd choice for an MMO, given Nintendo’s lack of an online infrastructure, but surely Square Enix know want they’re doing, right?
…
Right?
