Never thought you’d speak the words “I’ll trade my fire flower for your tanooki suit” did you? Well you might, as the back of the box for upcoming Super Mario 3D Land says the game will include item trading through the 3DS’ SpotPass feature.
The box also reveals the game will feature assist blocks, which are blocks adorned with the winged P icon that you can click on when you’re stuck to get a special item. No word on if the super guide from New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be making a return, however.
Personally, I like these hand holding features, as they allow children to enjoy the game without sacrificing difficulty for everyone else. Oh, did I say children? I meant me after the frustration of missing a jump for the third time.
