The second half of the Minecraft Adventure Update – in the form of version 1.10 – is on the horizon, but before we get there, creator Notch has a few surprises in store. Specifically, the team has introduced us to three new mobs: one friendly, two enemies, and one neutral.
The most detailed upcoming creation for 1.9 is the Snow Golem, who is a craft-able, friendly ally designed to heedlessly hurl snowballs at enemies. Notch added on Twitter that “The snowmen are ridiculously suicidal” in their unrelenting assaults on any and all enemy characters. So loyal to their creators.
Fellow developer Jens Bergensten hinted that the two new enemy characters would involve or possibly spawn in the Nether. He also added that you might encounter “a new mob that will (nearly) force you to get better upgrades. If you want to fight it, that is”.
The Nether itself is rumored to be getting a few content upgrades too.
Finally, the least amount of information has been shared regarding the neutral, village-dwelling character that Notch says “won’t do much in 1.9, but at least they will spawn with villages.”
Finally, Notch also stated on Twitter that he would be giving mounds of free money to all reporters who wrote favorably about the game. He also indicated that it was not a bribe, but simply free money. This, of course, means I am now rich beyond my wildest dreams and will build a home made entirely of cubes to celebrate.

Aww, so cute. I’ll name him and — wait, “suicidal”? Don’t die Yuki-chan.

1 + 2 + 1 = …3?
