This year’s Tokyo Games Show has come and gone, and true to their word, Square Enix presented absolutely no Final Fantasy Versus XIII content at their exhibit. However, in the latest edition of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, Tetsuya Nomura pried apart those tight lips to share a few new details, supporting the claim that Versus was back in full production. Specifically, Squeenix has been revamping the lighting for Versus, employing the new Luminous Engine.
The engine excels in complex and realistic lighting, and can be used with any game. Along with another original Versus engine for the prolific action sequences, the Luminous Engine will help to create the photo-realism that Nomura believes to be a main factor in the unique experience of the game.
Nomura has also been navigating the game’s world map, checking side paths, towns and dungeons. He considers it incredibly expansive and with Versus, he promises fans a Final Fantasy like they’ve never seen before.

Not gunna lie, but I’m REALLY excited for this game! I’m hoping it’s kinda like 12 in the scale of the world. I love just wondering around and finding stuff in that game.
Hope this will be better than FFXIII. I wish they didn’t make that game so linear. Get from point A to B.. not what FF fans want.
