In our current world where almost every game that’s just slightly important gets a collector’s edition, it comes as a surprise that Modern Warfare 3 Will NOT be getting the coveted Prestige Edition that past incarnations have. This news come from a tweet sent by Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling.
However, Modern Warfare 3 will still receive the typical Hardened Edition which will be priced at $99.99 which is $20.00 more than it has been in the past. The difference in pricing is due to this edition including a one-year membership to Call of Duty Elite.
No news has been delivered as to just why Infinity Ward has decided to skip out this year (or if Treyarch will be following suit) but it looks like gamers are going to have to make due with just the hardened edition for this year.

Yet again though PC gamers are left out on the “Special Edition” of the game.
